Love is breath

Love is so big and so simple at the same time. It is all pervasive and yet, we confuse it with something smaller and more fleeting; something dependent on this variable or that variable. But really, we make too big of a deal out of something that is as prevalent and ordinary as breathing air.

What is romantic love and why is it important?

Romantic love connects us with desire and passion, which are key ingredients for burning through that which creates the illusion that we are separate.

To be worthy or unworthy of romantic love is a dualisticly confused thought and feeling process that also perpetuates the illusion of separation.

So, does this mean that we ultimately don't need to have romantic relationships once we realise that we are not separate; that the dancer and the warrior are energies that play within and around us in varying rhythms?

Perhaps. But we are also social beings with complex emotions and thoughts. We don't do well in isolation for extended periods of time.

The union of the dancer and the warrior through romantic relationships can be a nourishing, enlightening and satisfying reminder of what we truly are.
